WeCycle launched in 2022 as an online marketplace built for cyclists, by cyclists. The idea began with a simple frustration: the lack of a curated, user-friendly platform for buying and selling cycling gear. As longtime cyclists and gear enthusiasts, we had grown increasingly frustrated with the cumbersome, outdated platforms available for selling used gear online. From sketchy transactions and unreliable buyers to high fees and convoluted processes, the experience of buying and selling cycling gear online simply hadn't kept pace with the needs of the modern cyclist.
There is no peer-to-peer solution that is streamlined, secure and designed to meet the needs of cyclists... until now. Our goal is to create a circular economy and be the go-to platform for cyclists to buy and sell gear. Whether you're a weekend warrior, a competitive racer, or somewhere in between, WeCycle is designed to meet your needs and help you find the gear, so you can spend less time scrolling and more time rolling.
Anyone can buy, sell and discover a wide range of products, from top-of-the-line performance gear to essential accessories and everything in between. We welcome sellers of all types, from local bike shops and established retailers to individual enthusiasts looking to sell their gently used gear. Our buyers come from all walks of life, from serious cyclists looking for the latest high-tech equipment to beginners just getting started on their cycling journey.
Whether you're looking to buy or sell, WeCycle is the perfect marketplace for anyone who wants to explore the world of cycling, connect with other riders, and find the gear and resources they need to take their rides to the next level.
We're excited to help you pursue your passion for cycling and connect with the vibrant cycling community that we're proud to be a part of.
How did it all begin?
Recognizing an opportunity to create a better, more user-friendly platform, we began to develop the idea for WeCycle. Drawing on extensive experience in the cycling world and my background in tech, we set out to create a marketplace that would meet the unique needs of cyclists and provide a streamlined, hassle-free buying and selling experience.
Throughout the development process, we were committed to creating a platform that would be easy to use, affordable, and secure for buyers and sellers alike. We spent countless hours researching and testing different features and functionalities, fine-tuning the user experience and building in the latest security measures to ensure that our users' information and transactions would be protected at all times.
Finally, after months of hard work and dedication, we launched WeCycle to the world. Today, we are proud to provide a robust, user-friendly marketplace for cyclists of all levels and interests, helping riders connect with the gear, resources, and community they need to pursue their passion for cycling. With our emphasis on affordability, sustainability, and community, WeCycle is not just a marketplace for buying and selling gear – it's a platform for changing the way we think about cycling and creating a better, more sustainable future for riders everywhere.
What is your mission?
We are on a mission to inspire cyclists to think second-hand first.
Cycling is an expensive sport. We couldn't afford to get 50¢ on the dollar when we sold something and pay 100¢ on the dollar when we bought something. As our cycling obsessions evolved, we were constantly striving to find unique and high-quality gear at an affordable price. The only way to achieve this was to shop second-hand.
In addition to saving money, we also realized we can help save the planet. The name WeCycle stemmed from recycling gear and encouraging people to be part of a circular economy.
Who are the people in your audience?
There are more than 35 million avid cyclists in North America. Cycling has exploded in recent years and the total market is expected to grow 10% year over year from 2023-2030. Cycling is what we know, what we love and we value your feedback as we continue to optimize our platform for you!
